We source our extensive range of textiles from all over the world. Servicing New Zealand-wide, we make sure to always deliver the highest quality fabric to meet the needs of your textile project. Whether you are making tea towels for a doll house, or going into business as a seamstress or tailor, our team are passionate about the fabrics we sell and offer the best customer service.

Our Team

RACHAEL PAEA

Rachael joined the Backstreet Bargains team in 2010 primarily focussing on the financial management area of the business. She works at all levels of the day to day functions of the business, as well as managing staff, payroll, accounts and is part of the buying team. She is our primary contact when dealing with key account holders.

Rachael has developed a fuller understanding of the use of fabric in design and enjoys working with clients to make sure they look at colour and make it work with their complexion.

Marie, Laura, Sarah & Scott

Marie is our photographer extraordinaire, website co-ordinator and tidy kiwi in the warehouse. She often works front of house downstairs, so is a familiar face to many of you - whilst also filming us as she frightens us with her scare antics - just ask her, she has a library of video evidence of all of us!

Laura is the brains behind our social media campaigns (including funnies and out takes that will keep you entertained). She is all in on helping you with your fabric needs, and is always enthusiastic about your creativity and skills!

Sarah recently jumped on board with us. Quietly spoken, but with loads of fabric knowledge having previously run her own children's label, Sarah holds the fort in the warehouse assisting our local customers as well as processing our online orders and:

Scott our Saturday chap! Scott started off in the textile industry and has known Mr Griibble for many years. They call themselves the "Dream Team" when they work together, so pop in for a visit and see what you think.

Between them they will offer you customer service that is second to none. Their accumulated industry knowledge means they can help you find a solution to almost all of your queries, and you will leave having had a great Backstreet Bargains experience!

BRUCE GRIBBLE

Bruce is the owner of the business. You may see him around the office from time to time, but these days he is actively pursuing semi-retirement after a life-long career in the fabric industry. We still lean on his industry expertise now and then - but that's only if he answers his phone!
