FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS
PREWASHING
Pre-wash any natural fibres that you will be washing in the future to avoid possible shrinkage. It is recommended that you pre-wash your fabric the same way as it will be washed in the future, which also includes drying. Brights, darks and lights are best washed separately to avoid colours running during the first few washes.
MERINO
Use a wool detergent for a gentle/wool machine cycle. Wash all colours separately to avoid colours running during the first few washes. Drip dry in shade. Boiled merino should only be hand washed or dry cleaned.
COTTON
Cold machine wash. Use hot/warm iron, dry cleanable.
Embroidered cotton – cool hand wash or dry cleanable.
LINEN
Pre-wash in cold water before cutting your fabric as there maybe some shrinkage. Use a gentle machine wash cycle in cold water or by hand. Turn inside out to avoid fading and dry in shade. Hot/warm iron. Do not tumble dry. Can be dry-cleaned.
WOOL
Wool garments should be washed on the wool setting (usually gentle action at 40°C). If your washing machine does not have a wool cycle, use the cold water wash or wash cycle for delicates. Use a neutral/mild detergent that is preferably Woolmark recommended (look for the Woolmark symbol on the packet). Garments are flat dried after washing. Can be drycleaned. Steam when pressing.
RAYON/VISCOSE
Pre-wash in cold water with a low spin cycle. Rayon can shrink and mis-shapen in hot water. Air dry of flat dry away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry. Can be dry-cleaned.
VELVETS & JACQUARDS
For machine washing, place the fabric in a mesh bag to protect it. Select the delicate or gentle cycle and use cold water. Add a small amount of gentle detergent designed for delicate fabrics. After washing, remove the item from the mesh bag and gently press out excess water.
